Join us as an experienced Drainlayer and be a part of the growing water works within the Auckland Region.
As a Drainlayer you will support the Stormwater team by running the day-to-day operations which will have you involved in trenching, installing and evaluating piping including plant resources and liaising with your crew and subcontractors.
In addition to the above you will:
  • Check pipe gradients for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers
  • Install or repair storm water structures or pipe systems
  • Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors
  • Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools
  • Excavate and dig trenches along areas marked on the plans
  • Work across any 7 days of the week, including weekends if required
  • Be available for On Call Rosters

We’re looking for someone with:
  • Must be an experienced Certified Drain Layer
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Drain layer
  • Strong understanding of the principals and technology of drain laying is required
  • Experience in working with Council owned public drainage assets not solely domestic drainage
  • Experience supervising work undertaken by those undertaking training
  • Minimum Current class 2 licence, ideally with WTR endorsement
