Our Racing Services team is responsible for the planning, delivery, and setup of critical race day equipment, playing a crucial role in the success of the on-course wagering experience. We are now seeking a Driver and Equipment Installer to join our Dunedin team on a full-time basis.
From day one, you'll dive into the fast-paced world of racing and logistics, ensuring our equipment is delivered, installed, and tested on time and to plan. As a Driver and Equipment Installer, you’ll work alongside a talented, experienced team, managing the preparation, safe transport, and setup of equipment needed for live race days. Your role will evolve across key areas such as equipment planning, raceday equipment setup and support, all while enhancing the overall customer and racing experience and embodying Entain’s core values. Where and how you can work...
We have offices in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Sydney, and Brisbane, to name a few! This role is based in Dunedin, including travel and accommodation across the lower South Island for race days.
You will be immersed in field-based work, where it all happens! Your day kicks off at the office, before heading to the racecourse with the team. From comprehensive pre raceday planning, setting up and conducting essential checks to diving right into the heart of race day, you’ll be immersed in the excitement every step of the way.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to thrive in a dynamic environment with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Your day-to-day…
- Plan the raceday equipment requirements in liaison with the Racing Services Team Leader
- Deliver equipment to the track in a timely manner and install in the appropriate position relevant to the oncourse environment ready for raceday. Post raceday, pack down and movement of the truck, control van and equipment to the next destination as per the plan
- Set up and cable the control van to the mainframe and check the connections are in place and working. First level testing of equipment to ensure all relevant units are working. Escalate and liaise with a Direct Channels Engineer for any issues
- Manage all vehicles (tote caravan, truck, trailer, control vans) and ensure they are roadworthy and that safety regulations are followed by obtaining Certificate of Fitness’ for vehicles. This includes any regular vehicle checks required under our Health and Safety requirements
- Help to develop and apply actions that promote strong customer focus and standards. Act with the customer in mind and continually look for innovations and improvements to the customer experience of the work you do.
- Demonstrate behaviours and actions that align to our Organisational Values every day at the TAB.
You’re a match if you ideally have…
- Interest or experience in the NZ horse or greyhound racing industry and Entain’s products would be advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent people skills, a team player attitude, and the ability to take direction well, with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- A sharp and observant mindset, with the capability to concentrate and remain switched on for long periods.
- Good stamina and physical fitness are essential, including the ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy equipment.
- A clean and valid Class 5 Heavy Vehicle licence with driving experience is essential.
