With our head office based in Christchurch, we're responsible for constructing and maintaining overhead and underground lines and equipment across these locations. Providing such a critical service is no easy task and we know that to be the best, our people need to be connected, safe, and involved.
About the role
We have an opportunity for a registered Electrical Fitter with current EWRB practicing licence, who has significant experience in construction and maintenance of high voltage equipment and a background in distribution and supply, as well as an understanding in network protection, and the ability to read and interpret utility plans.
You'll bring strong written and oral English skills, an open mind, and confidence to bring new ideas to the table. You'll also be available for some work-related travel - sometimes you'll have to go where you're needed to maintain and restore networks.
Skills /Experience
Essential:
- Registered Electrician/Electrical Fitter with current practicing licence
- Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Electrical)
- Demonstrable experience in construction and maintenance of HV equipment and an understanding of network protection is required
- Experience reading and interpreting utility plans
- Relevant network certifications
- Current and valid driver's licence
Desirable:
- Attainment or study towards Level 5 Qualification in Electrical Supply (Electrical) or equivalent
- Class 2 heavy traffic licence
- Forklift licence

- Minimum of 40 hours per week
