Mō tēnei tūranga mahi - About the role
The Event Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Event Specialist to organise Ara's corporate, recruitment, staff, student and department events across its campuses and providing cross-institutional support for other events that occur, which include sponsorship events and those staged by the departments or Ara's executive (Te Kāhui Manukura - "TKM").
The Event Coordinator will be expected to support the organisation and delivery of events to a high standard aimed at enhancing Ara's reputation as a leader of applied tertiary education and integral to Canterbury's future.

- Experience working collaboratively as part of a team
- Experience in event coordination or equivalent in retail, tourism or hospitality
- Demonstrated expertise in customer service
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Ability to prioritise workload with a proven ability to successfully handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work cross functionally in an organisational context
- Skilled at relationship management with both internal and external stakeholders
- Proactive and dynamic to achieve and exceed expectations
- Able to manage conflicting demands
