The key focus of this role is to ensure Health NZ has a clear, forward-looking strategic direction for how healthcare services need to evolve, alongside a deep understanding of current and desired future performance. Core responsibilities include:
- Leading strategy, planning, and reporting – meeting statutory planning and accountability obligations and aligning medium- to long-term national strategies to provide an integrated view of how healthcare services must adapt to future challenges.
- Driving performance management and improvement – partnering with regional and local leaders to facilitate integrated performance discussions, hold the organisation to account, intervene when performance needs to be turned around, identify and share best practice, and champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
We are seeking a proven senior leader with exceptional capability in strategic planning, organisational performance, and system-wide improvement in a large, complex environment. You will bring the gravitas to operate at the most senior levels of government and health, and the ability to translate strategy into sustainable, measurable results.
