Chapman Tripp’s Auckland Finance Practice is looking for a Solicitor to join the highly successful team, with a focus on corporate and institutional finance.
The role works closely with partner Gerard Souness, Cathryn Barber and Jana Hitchcock on market-leading finance transactions for prestigious domestic and international corporate, financial institutions and borrower clients. This role would focus on providing legal advice and transactional support on general lending, project finance and securitisation matters.
Our Auckland team has recently advised:
- InfraRed Capital Partners and Northleaf Capital on their acquisition of, and $1.3bn syndicated acquisition funding for, 80% of Vodafone NZ’s passive mobile tower business;
- ANZ, BNZ, Westpac, Kiwibank and independent security trustee, New Zealand Guardian Trust, providing c.NZ$600m syndicated project financings to Te Runanga o Toa Rangatira for the purchase of 40+ school properties from the Crown as a party of their Treaty settlements;
- Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board on the syndicated financing for its NZ$1.15 billion acquisition of 70% of Spark New Zealand’s passive mobile tower business (that business became Connexa Limited, post-acquisition);
- BNZ, ANZ and Société Générale as Arranger and Joint Lead Managers on the $650m public term securitisation for UDC Finance in 2024. This deal is the largest term securitisation transaction in New Zealand to date. We have advised the Joint Lead Managers for UDC’s public terms deals every year since its inaugural issue in 2021; and
- Kathmandu Holdings Limited on a three-year AU$300m debt refinancing facility which included, at AU$100m, the largest syndicated sustainability linked loan to be established by a New Zealand corporate.
