Payrate: $34 per hour
Minimum Hours of Work Per Week: 30
Maximum Hours of Work Per Week: 40
Key Requirements:
NZQF Level 4 or above qualification in sports science, fitness management, business, or a related field
or at least 2 years of relevant experience in fitness centre leadership or operations.Strong knowledge of fitness programming, member engagement strategies, and NZ safety regulations.
Excellent people management and communication skills, with experience in staff training and supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Organise, control, and promote the activities, facilities, and services of the fitness centre (retail gym environment).
Develop class schedules, training programs, and promotional campaigns to attract and retain members.
Manage staffing: recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate instructors, front‑desk staff, and administrative team.
Monitor financial performance track membership sales, manage budgets, and oversee pricing strategies.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations, and oversee equipment maintenance and facility hygiene.
Liaise with external partners and stakeholders to promote the centre and organise events or special programs.
Prepare operational reports and performance updates for business owners or senior management.
