We are currently seeking to employ a Graduate Engineer to our Planned Works team based in Upper Hutt.
About the Role:
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Pricing and designing for customer projects and Network jobs
- Contributing to OMEXOM meeting its customer service objectives with its clients
- Contributing to successful project planning, outcomes and success
- Ensuring customer relationships are enhanced
- Working with external providers including visits to potential site to ensure plans and designs meet requirements, network and engineering specifications, and expectations
- Working efficiently as a member of the planned works project team
- Understanding overhead and underground customer reticulation requirements
- Designing or specifying logical and fit for purpose electrical or mechanical equipment for installation purposes
- Ensuring the achievement of sales and profit targets from jobs/projects priced
- Providing technical support to Estimators/Project Managers and the other members of the Service Delivery Team
Qualifications and Skills
- Ideally you will have a Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field is highly desirable
- A well organised mindset and attention to detail
- The ability to interpret complex information
- Ideally you will have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar Electrical Distribution role or from a Telecommunications or Civil/Transport background
- Strong quality and safety ethics
- An overall team player that is willing to contribute and help the team succeed
- A good understanding of how electricity distribution works in NZ in both Underground Overhead disciplines.
- Comfortable working with mathematic calculations
- Experience with computer aided designs and drawing tools such as AutoCAD and Catan
- Experience with computer programmes such as Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project
