Corrections Intelligence works proactively to provide quality actionable intelligence that consistently provides decision advantage to support safe prisons and safe communities. The current opportunity is within the National Security Intelligence team. This position will work collaboratively across Corrections Intelligence to support the delivery of nationally consistent products which provide decision advantage in the areas of the highest and most complex risk. Mo te tunga | About the role

The Intelligence Support Analyst is responsible for proactively supporting the intelligence unit through the collection, collation, storage, retrieval, and dissemination of information for intelligence purposes. Responsible for supporting Intelligence staff with the creation of core intelligence and analytical products and with information and intelligence collection by applying the intelligence cycle and entry level analytical tools and methods.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Ability to research, collate, analyse and present information to support the preparation of core intelligence products.
  • Initiative when faced with new or unfamiliar tasks and persistence when faced with difficult or time-consuming responsibilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and regularly prioritise/re-prioritise.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders in a professional, customer-friendly manner.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including intelligence assessment report writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to use discretion in dealing with problems.
  • Proven track record of sound credibility and integrity standards.

The preferred candidate will have some formal intelligence qualifications or transferable experience (either a tertiary qualification in a related field or Certificate in Intelligence as a minimum). Possessing an ability to evaluate information with a sense of urgency, you will be committed to ensuring the integrity of our operations, elevating concerns before issues arise.

A full driving licence is required as travel will be a requirement of this role. The hours to be worked are within 0700-1900 Monday-Friday and can be discussed at interview.

The successful applicant must be capable of obtaining and must retain appropriate level of security clearance through NZSIS vetting process.

Utu a-tau | Salary

The midpoint of the salary range which indicates full competence in the role is $67,988 per annum. The full range (85%-120%) is $57,824 - $81,586 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
