AIG underwriters help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, and Multinational Clients. How you will create an impact

In this role you will deliver service excellence to internal and external customers and drive profitable growth of SME Package, whilst always ensuring adherence to risk appetite, underwriting guidelines, and compliance standards. This is a foundational role of an underwriter’s career path and provides an excellent opportunity for professional learning and development.

Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:

  • Assist underwriters with new business and renewal submissions.
  • Manage your own renewals and new business which falls within your authority
  • Assist the schemes and product manager with processing of scheme business
  • Manage shared underwriter movements calendar
  • Assist SME Team Leader in various tasks including but not limited to maintaining minutes from team meetings
  • Proactively engage with operational teams to ensure timely and effective credit control monitoring (including unallocated cash and receivables/aged debtor reporting)
  • Liaise with various support teams to ensure that administrative processes performed outside of Portfolio Solutions are completed within predefined service levels
  • Assist with project coordination work as required

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Exposure to the insurance industry
  • Basic knowledge of commercial underwriting concepts
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office suite platforms systems
  • ANZIIF qualifications or commitment to undertake and complete same
  • Ability to drive a culture of service excellence
  • Ability to work autonomously, to meet deadlines and manage workloads
  • Strong interpersonal skills – particularly collaboration and engagement skills
  • Sound communication skills – including written and presentation skills
  • Strong team player
  • Willingness and desire to learn
