We are looking for a permanent Laboratory Technician to join our team at ARL, Ravensdown in our brand-new laboratory in Rolleston, Canterbury. ARL provides soil, plant, sap, feed quality and fertiliser testing for customers all over the country.
About the Role
As an experienced laboratory technician, you will be part of a strong laboratory team. You'll have the chance to work with modern analytical equipment and the latest technology. You'll be responsible for preparing materials and solutions, extracting samples and ensuring timeliness of clean laboratory equipment. Along with the rest of the team, you'll ensure a quick turn-around time for our customers' samples while driving quality and looking to continuously improve the way we do things.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
- NCEA Level 3 Chemistry
- An understanding of technical, analytical and troubleshooting skills
- At least 2 years' experience in a commercial laboratory
- Knowledge of soil, plant or fertiliser analysis (this is advantageous but not necessary)
- The ability to work and meet tight deadlines
- The ability to quickly adapt to new processes and systems
- Understanding of H&S in the workplace
- An understanding of ISO 17025:2015
