About the Role

Are you ready to take your technical skills into a healthcare environment where your work directly supports patient care? We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented PACS Administrator to join our team at Waikato Hospital.

As a PACS Administrator, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS). These systems are critical to the delivery of diagnostic imaging services across the Waikato District and the wider Te Manawa Taki region.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensuring the reliable delivery of digital images and reports to clinical teams
  • Troubleshooting and resolving system issues
  • Supporting system upgrades and improvements in collaboration with vendors and internal teams
  • Maintaining data accuracy and integrity
  • Participating in a 24/7 on-call support roster
  • Support internal and external users
  • This is a key position that helps ensure clinicians have timely access to the imaging information they need to provide excellent patient care.

The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the Te Whatu Ora PSA- Administration and Clerical Collective agreement. Additional benefits include kiwisaver contributions (if eligible), professional development and wellness support.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is technically skilled, adaptable, and thrives in a collaborative environment. You’ll bring:

Essential:

  • A background in Information Systems, IT, or Medical Imaging
  • Knowledge of medical imaging standards and terminology (e.g., DICOM, HL7)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Registration with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB)
  • Experience in general radiography or clinical healthcare settings
