As a Platform Engineer for Westpac, you will help engineers be successful developing platforms. Your role will be to mentor other engineers, create high level solutions, and collaborate with teams to create a devops culture and enable effective platform delivery.
As a Platform Engineer for Westpac, you will help engineers be successful developing platforms. Your role will be to mentor other engineers, create high level solutions, and collaborate with teams to create a devops culture and enable effective platform delivery.
You will be required to work across the chapter, sharing knowledge and driving improvement across the craft of Platform Engineering.

- At least 4+ years’ experience as a Platform Engineer, preferably in a large corporate environment
- Experience with Apache Ecosystem including HDFS and spark and hive, experience with terraform is essential
- Experience with Docker and containers orchestration (Kubernetes) with experience in automation tools like Ansible/Chef
- Familiarity with Linux systems and shell scripting
- Familiarity with CICD tools - Jenkins
- Experience in programming languages like Java, Python
- Dealing with production deployments, best practices, backup systems/verification
- Experience with Azure DevOps tooling like Azure container apps and Kubernetes services is preferable
- Experience with snowflake platform is desirable
- On call rostered production support and vulnerability patching
- Ability to validate functionality and performance of new development projects within the corresponding application system.
- Tertiary level qualifications in Computer Science or certification for relevant technical.
