About the Role
This role is a part-time, fixed term position in which you will play a key role in developing, reviewing, and advising on Council policy. You'll ensure our policies are robust, compliant, and aligned with current legislation and community aspirations. This is a dynamic and influential position where your work will directly inform Council decisions and operations across the district.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, review and implementation of Council policies, frameworks and procedures.
- Conduct thorough, evidence-based research to support sound policy advice.
- Analyse national and regional policy trends and ensure local policies are aligned and responsive.
- Promote the integration of Tikanga Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles into all aspects of policy development.
About You

- Proven experience in policy development, research or legislative analysis.
- A sound understanding of central and local government functions.
