Our Opportunity:
We have an opportunity to join our Maintenance Team who are maintaining Mercury's generation assets across the Waikato and Taupo regions. You will play an important role in the testing and commissioning of our assets, ensuring they are maintained to meet relevant regulatory standards and are complaint. This is a dynamic role, working closely with maintenance, engineering, and site teams. Reporting to the Turnaround Delivery Lead you will be part of a wider maintenance team, caring for our assets on the Waikato River. This role also will have a vehicle to allow you to travel between sites.
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintaining Generation assets in accordance with Mercury policies, practices and regulatory standards.
- Liaise with key stakeholders; site leads, maintenance team and engineering
- Documenting and reporting testing outcomes into CMMS
- Be conversant with industry best practice
- Cost effective solutions/opportunities are raised to ensure that plant performance is optimised.
- Routine and defect maintenance is undertaken.
What we are looking for:
- Qualified, experienced and motivated Electrical tradespeople, experience working in a high voltage plant. EWRB qualified.
- Experience and qualifications with instrumentation and protection systems.
- Experience carrying out HV testing.
- Relevant experience within plant operations / process control or maintenance experience in a manufacturing or heavy process industry.
- New Zealand certificate in electrical supply (Power Technician) level 5 is an advantage.
- 5-8 years of plant operations, process control or maintenance experience in the electricity supply, manufacturing or process industry.
- Electrical maintenance of geothermal/hydro generation assets would be desirable.
