We are Toitū Envirocare (Enviro-Mark Solutions Limited), and chances are you've already interacted with our brands— Toitū carbonzero, Toitū carbonreduce, or Enviro-Mark. You may have enjoyed carbonzero certified Yealands Wine or Steinlager beer, used climate positive certified Ecotricity electricity, cleaned using Enviro-Mark Certified Eco Planet products or at least know friends or family who have. You may have wondered at times how organisations like The Warehouse Group, Canterbury University and Westpac manage their carbon emissions. The short answer is, it's our people. We are proudly New Zealand's leading carbon reduction solution; however, our work isn't done yet! Our aim is to encourage more organisations to start their journey with us to make New Zealand and the world more sustainable.

Intrigued?

We are looking for a sustainability and accreditation expert to lead our internal sustainability strategy and engagements, and the accreditations that are the core of our reputation for integrity. This is a permanent position, preferably based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading a positive relationship with our accreditation body and other ESG initiatives, ensuring that relevant requirements are met.
  • Developing and managing delivery of Toitū's Accreditations Strategy, in alignment with the business's strategic goals
  • Determining programme changes needed to align with relevant standards and any impacts these may have on existing accreditations
  • Overseeing the maintenance of Toitū's quality management system
  • Building external collaboration that drives standards development and alignment with relevant international standards
  • Providing leadership across Toitū in accreditation, impartiality and the independence of our work.

About You

You are the sort of person who will positively drive change in line with lead practice and international standards. You will have strong sustainability reporting experience, including GHG reporting and other leading sustainability initiatives, along with experience in implementing standards in an accredited organisation or certification body. You be highly organised and proactive, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to motivate people across Toitū to meet and exceed accreditation requirements.

The incumbent may be required to travel from time to time to support the activities of Toitū Envirocare. While flexibility is a key part of the Toitū way of working, we would like you to spend time at your local office on a regular basis.

A fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a busy team making a difference to New Zealand.
