Our vision is to enable our ākonga to achieve their goals and become confident, contributing members of their communities.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the position

We're looking for a experienced Programme Manager to lead the design, implementation, and review of Te Kura's school-wide work programme funded through At Risk funding.

This is a senior, full-time fixed-term role for two years, reporting directly to the Chief Executive. You'll play a key role in ensuring the programme is aligned with Te Kura's strategic priorities and delivers meaningful outcomes for ākonga who are at risk of not achieving educational success.

In this role you'll be:

  • Driving the development and delivery of a multi-year programme plan
  • Overseeing programme performance, risks, and benefits realisation
  • Providing strategic advice and reporting to senior leadership
  • Ensuring robust financial and operational management
  • Building strong relationships across Te Kura and with external partners

Ko koe ēnei | About you

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Bring senior-level experience in programme management, ideally in education or the public sector
  • Are a strategic thinker with strong planning and delivery capability
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
  • Understand the importance of equity and the needs of at-risk learners
  • Are committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice

Ngā Uara o Te Kura | Our Values

  • Manaaki | How We Show Up — showing respect, generosity, and care
  • Whanaungatanga | How We Team — building relationships and belonging
  • Tika | How We Practise — acting fairly and honestly
  • Ākonga at the Centre — guiding every decision we make

Hei whakautu | In return

At Te Kura, you'll be part of a team that's focused on doing what's right for our ākonga. You'll be trusted to bring your experience and judgement to a programme that will make a real difference for learners who need extra support to succeed. We also offer flexible working arrangements and a supportive environment where your contribution is valued.
