Job Description
Do yourself a power of good
Join Vector and make a difference – for the world, your community, and yourself. Whatever your role, you’ll help tackle global challenges while improving the lives of 1.7 million Aucklanders.
The role
On offer: a rare opportunity to drive a culture of continuous improvement and support our transition to a directive PMO, ensuring the right systems and analytics are in place to support governance decision-making processes and data quality standards.
The Programme Operations Specialist supports the efficient and effective delivery of programmes and projects by utilising systems and tools, coordinating governance activities, maintaining documentation standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role ensures alignment with PMO frameworks, facilitates clear communication and reporting, and assists project teams throughout the entire delivery lifecycle.
You’ll play a key part in maintaining the integrity of programme data, promoting operational excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through the application of LEAN and Kaizen principles. By championing standardisation, ensuring compliance with PMO processes and supporting the adoption of tools and frameworks, the Programme Operations Specialist contributes to the delivery of high-quality outcomes and enhanced stakeholder engagement across the business, whilst supporting a higher level of collaboration, cross-functional engagement, and team-based decision-making.
Who are we looking for?
We envision you’ll have:
- A qualification or comparable experience in business administration, project management, information management or similar
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools, including Project Online, MS Teams, Outlook and document management systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills to monitor data quality, identify issues and support resolution processes
- A sound understanding of governance frameworks and practices, compliance processes and project lifecycle stages. Previous experience supporting programme or project delivery teams within a PMO environment is ideal
- Experience in applying continuous improvement methodologies such as LEAN principles and Kaizen practices is a bonus.
You’ll also be effective working in Agile and Value Stream environments, collaborating effectively face-to-face.
