THE ROLE
This is a critical Utilities senior leadership team (SLT) role responsible for the leadership, growth and operational oversight of single Water contracts, project, or joint venture with revenue between $20M to $80M.
Within its scope of operational oversight, the role is accountable for
- Project Leadership & Governance – Oversee project setup, execution, and governance compliance while ensuring timely reporting on performance.
- Team Management & Communication – Provide leadership, guidance, and support to direct reports across multiple departments to maintain collaboration and efficiency.
- Zero Harm & Compliance – Champion safety, quality, and environmental standards, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and company policies.
- Financial & Cost Management – Monitor project costs, forecasts, and budgets, taking corrective action to maintain financial targets and business objectives.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement – Build and maintain strong client relationships, negotiate work contracts, and develop business growth opportunities.
- People & Culture Development – Lead resource planning, performance management, and succession planning to foster a skilled and engaged workforce.
ABOUT YOU
- 15 years’ experience in the engineering and/or construction industry, preferably with D&B experience
- Extensive experience in a similar position managing Water / Infrastructure Projects
- Solid understanding and demonstration of successful Project Directorship and Project Management skills
- Management experience (general and operational) with capability to develop strategic / business / project plans and delivery responsibility
- A good understanding of, and experience with, the business challenges impacting upon business in different life cycles (e.g. expanding, mature, declining or new market)
- Experience in researching, analysing and understanding complex information to develop and implement business solutions
