This is a permanent Project Management position within a growing water industry that has a focus on technical project delivery and full project lifecycle. The remuneration range is between 98,925 and 139,658 (including kiwisaver). Appointments will be made dependent on skills, experience and qualifications.
The opportunity
As a Project Manager within our Capital Delivery Group, you will play a pivotal role in advancing water and wastewater treatment plant upgrades—from planning through to delivery. Working closely with engineers, contractors, and council partners, you will have a lead role that ensures projects result in future-proof water supply and treatment. With a capable programme leadership group supporting you, you will ensure the large capital investment into our critical assets meet our community needs and stakeholder expectations.
Within each project you will hold responsibility of:
- Engaging with technical design, and water engineers to review design and specifications.
- Managing project milestones, activity scope and performance.
- Adoption of project methodologies and practices.
- Setting delivery expectation, engagement with suppliers and consultancies and commercial support.
- Financial reporting and management.
- Project risk management and health & safety compliance within each project.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring either a background in project engineering or process engineering with an aptitude and experience managing projects, or come from a background in civil project management across oil, gas or plant with an understanding of process and engineering technical requirements. Additionally you will need:
- Excellent financial management, reporting and forecasting capability
- Strong supplier engagement and contract management
- Ability to adopt and embed project management methodologies with delivery focus with a qualification in PRINCE2 or similar
- Great stakeholder communication and performance report writing
- Good Microsoft Projects, Microsoft 365 and computer software literacy
- Familiarity with capital project lifecycles and proven ability to deliver end to end infrastructure or plant projects.
