Regional Director Water, New Zealand - ( 250002HO )

Description

New Zealand Regional Director, Water

About us:

Work with the best. Join us and lead a smart, creative, and inspired team that accomplishes operational excellence. Our specialists lead their fields and guide our work with rigour, a creative spirit, and a vision for growth. Bringing together individuals with diverse backgrounds, talents, and expertise, our 34,000 team members in over 450 locations worldwide are vital to making Stantec stronger.

About the role:

Stantec’s New Zealand Water team has an impressive portfolio of successful major projects and panel partners that positively impact our communities nationwide. We know that finding solutions to our water issues is critical, so our diverse network of over 360 local water specialists collaborate across business lines and time zones to ensure the best outcomes are achieved. With exciting projects in the pipeline, we are looking to expand our team and seek the changemakers, innovators, leaders, and collaborators to join us.

Due to an internal promotion, we seek an outstanding Regional Director to lead our established New Zealand Water business —someone with a proven track record in developing and implementing measurable strategies, winning work, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Below is a snapshot of some of the key responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor business strategy and plans for our Water business to achieve organisational goals and agreed outcomes.
  • Manage P&L and implement measurable KPIs.
  • Build and maintain positive, long-term relationships with existing and new clients, foster strategic partnerships to support business development, and grow our Water presence across New Zealand.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to leverage capabilities and provide integrated client solutions.
  • Identify capability gaps and develop and recruit appropriate staff.
  • Actively promote the exchange of expertise and support wider knowledge growth. Participate in internal and external knowledge communities, locally and internationally.

To succeed in this role, you will be a recognised leader within the Water sector with 15 years of experience. You will be someone who leads from the front, is resilient to adversity, and is hands-on to ensure we deliver excellent outcomes for our clients. Strong commercial and business acumen and an inclusive and proactive leadership style are also your strengths.

Along with your leadership experience, you will be highly connected within New Zealand’s Water sector and actively represent Stantec at forums and industry events. Moreover, you successfully develop executive-level connections with government and private clients.

You will also contribute to the overall leadership of our New Zealand business and represent our Water business in our national Executive Leadership team. Here, you will work closely with other ANZ leaders to participate in and assist in delivering our regional and global growth strategies.

What we offer:

Alongside a competitive salary, we offer numerous benefits to help sustain your professional development and wellbeing, including:

  • Flexible work arrangements, including purchasing up to four weeks of additional leave.
  • Local and international learning and talent development programmes, online learning, and on-the-job learning.
  • Mentoring.
  • Professional memberships.
  • Health insurance, income continuance insurance, and life insurance.
  • Service recognition awards.
  • Employee Assistance Program.

Our New Zealand business:

Our New Zealand team of over 900 staff works from 16 offices, collaborating across disciplines and industries to bring water, transport, and infrastructure projects to life. Our work from initial project concept and planning through design, construction, and commissioning is built on a nearly 150-year history in New Zealand. So, when we take on a project, we see the opportunity to make a lasting connection with the people and places where we live and work.
