About the Role

As a Senior Advisor you'll support the development and implementation of the New Zealand's Government's Health Infrastructure Plan. You'll contribute to the prioritisation and sequencing of investments across the national portfolio and assist in long term site and investment plans for hospitals across the health estate.

Reporting to the Group Manager National Infrastructure & Investment Planning, you'll work closely with regional teams and stakeholders across Te Whatu Ora, including service planning, finance, and project delivery teams. Your work will help ensure that investment decisions are well informed, strategically aligned, and deliver long term value for the health system.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a fast paced, dynamic environment where your expertise will help shape the future of healthcare delivery in Aotearoa.

About you

You're a strategic and analytical thinker who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working on complex, high impact projects. You bring a strong understanding of infrastructure investment and planning, and you're passionate about contributing to a health system that delivers better outcomes for all New Zealanders.

You're confident navigating ambiguity, influencing decision makers, and coordinating varied subject matter experts to provide meaningful insights that shape long term investment strategies.

You're a natural relationship builder, able to work effectively across diverse teams and with a wide range of stakeholders, from clinical and finance teams to government agencies and regional leaders. You're organised, open to innovation and always looking for ways to improve processes and outcomes.

You Will Bring

  • Proven experience in infrastructure planning, site planning, or capital business case development-ideally within the public sector or large, complex organisations.
  • Strong understanding of investment prioritisation, strategic planning, and portfolio management.
  • Experience with investment management frameworks and government budget processes (preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders, including finance, project delivery, and clinical teams.
  • Experience working in diverse and multicultural environments, with a collaborative and inclusive approach.
  • A commitment to equity and a deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022.
