The Strategy and Business Support (SBS) team sits within Ministerial Services, a business unit responsible for providing a range of services to the Executive arm of Government (VIP Transport, managing official visits), as well as support and advisory functions.
The SBS team supports the General Manager and the wider group by:
- leading the groups strategic and business planning processes, public accountability and corporate reporting functions;
- coordinating input into official correspondence requests and processes;
- developing and delivering activity to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Ministerial Services and DIA;
- working with key stakeholders to ensure advice is well informed and risk aware.
The Senior Advisor (Official Correspondence) will lead and contribute to supporting the accountability and transparency of the group and its operational functions with a particular focus on leading the end-to-end management of official correspondence requests.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Advisor who can lead and deliver the day-to-day official correspondence function, provide strategic advice and support across the group, and drive the development of operational policy and procedure ensuring critical operational services and decisions are well documented and maintained.
Key to this role is knowledge and experience of the Official Information Act and Privacy Act processes. The successful candidate will possess political nous, strong stakeholder relationship management and be effective at working across different levels of the organisation, from operational staff to senior managers and the Ministers office.
You will be part of a small team who work closely with the SBS manager and Senior Advisors to deliver for the GM, wider-group and our Minister in a high-paced environment. We believe in a workplace culture that's supportive, collaborative and innovative.
This is a short-term role offering 4 month fixed or secondment through to the end of end of December 2025 to backfill for movement within the team.
