Te Haeata/The Opportunity

As Senior Advisor Learning and Development (L&D), you'll play a key role in shaping a culture of continuous learning and development. This is a chance to make this role your own, through learning focused on leadership development, Māori Crown relations capabilities, core professional skills, organisation culture, employee experience and diversity, equity and inclusion.

Part of a small enterprise L&D team, this opportunity would suit a learning and development superstar who is excited to:

  • Take a lead role in the implementation of our new enterprise L&D strategy and action plan
  • Provide high-level advice to the business to identify effective learning solutions to meet their requirements
  • Influence and enhance our internal L&D community of practice
  • Source, design, develop, deliver, evaluate and report on enterprise-level learning programmes and impacts
  • Role model culturally affirming practices through your approaches and relationships; and
  • Support the operational delivery of learning events.

Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

  • Extensive experience and expertise across the learning and development lifecycle
  • Experience implementing a range of learning solutions to a wide variety of audiences including different role types, neurodiversity and a range of lived experiences
  • Proven ability to make strategic connections to align learning with organisational goals
  • A commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and an understanding of te ao Māori me ōna tikanga Māori
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural worldviews and how this translates to a learning context
  • Practical experience with learning management systems (ideally Totara Learn), authoring tools and wizardry with Microsoft Office products including MS Teams and SharePoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent relationship management skills; and
  • Personal qualities such as a growth mindset, curiosity, creativity, adaptability, patience, tenacity and a sense of humour.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The salary band for this role is $98,208 - $135,539 with the appointing salary for this role likely to be between $98,208 and $126,683, based on skills and experience.
