Learning and Development Advisor

Ports of Auckland
Auckland, Auckland
Full time

Port of Auckland is part of the special character of our city and plays a vital role in our economy, delivering the things we need and enjoy. Nearly three-quarters of the port's inbound cargo stays within the Auckland and Upper Waikato region. Our location on Auckland's doorstep means the delivery of goods is quick, the cost of goods is low, and we are focusing on reducing our carbon footprint to become a sustainable Port.

We are seeking applications from talent individuals who are interested in joining as a Learning Advisor, to support building a culture of learning which ultimately enhances the learning capability at the Port of Auckland.

This position will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, delivery, evaluation, return on investment, facilitation and management of identified learning programs and solutions that enable the achievement of our strategy and vision. These may include but are not limited:

  • Identify learning opportunities and gaps across the business, and work with stakeholders to create and maintain fit-for-purpose learning solutions
  • Design, develop, and maintain training programs and materials
  • Deliver "train the trainer" sessions to support wider capability development
  • Review and improve both online and offline learning programs in partnership with the different areas within the port.
  • Assess learning outcomes and continuously improve solutions based on feedback and results

ABOUT YOU

With experience in Learning and Development you will be confident at:

  • Designing and delivering learning solutions that are engaging and effective
  • Facilitating learning in both face-to-face and virtual settings
  • Building strong relationships and managing stakeholders across different levels of the business
  • Conducting training needs analysis and evaluating learning outcomes
  • Meeting deadlines and producing high-quality outputs
  • Coaching and supporting others to deliver training

WHAT YOU NEED

  • At least 3 years in Learning and Development in a medium to large size organization with diverse learner groups
  • Industry recognised qualification in Adult Learning would be preferrable
  • Demonstrated knowledge of different learning styles, adult learning and learning principles
  • Knowledge of designing and implementing training in process improvement, leadership, and soft skills
  • Previous Port experience would be advantageous, but not essential

BENEFITS

We pride ourselves on being a great place to work and consider all employees part of the port whānau. We have multiple staff benefits including free parking, an onsite gym and café.
