Mo te tunga | About the role

As a Senior People Adviser, you'll be a key enabler for our leaders, helping them achieve their business goals through effective people practices. You'll provide proactive, professional, and timely advice across a all people related matters, contributing to a high-performing, inclusive, and engaged workforce.

In this role, you'll act as a trusted adviser to leaders at all levels across Ara Poutama Aotearoa. Leveraging your strong generalist HR experience, you'll guide and support them through all people matters including employment relations, performance management, change initiatives, and coaching conversations. You'll bring clarity to complex situations, helping leaders understand the "why" behind our practices so they can learn, grow, and lead with confidence.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Broad HR generalist experience, ideally with specialisation in one or more areas such as change management or employment relations.
  • In-depth knowledge of current employment legislation, with proven experience applying it in practice, able to identify risk and provide sound, lawful advice.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Skilled in researching, analysing, and interpreting people data to inform and support business decisions, with well-developed analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence using HR-related systems and software.
  • High level of cultural capability and awareness, or a genuine willingness to learn and grow in this area; able to work effectively with diverse groups and perspectives.

Nga painga | The benefits

The midpoint of the salary range is $119,013 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $101,162 - $142,816 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
