You'll be part of New Zealand’s only Liver Transplant Unit, working across surgical specialties in a fast-paced tertiary hospital that thrives on excellence, collaboration and patient-first care
In this dynamic role, you will:
- Lead clinical pharmacy services in liver transplant and complex surgical care
- Collaborate with expert multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
- Influence prescribing practice through protocols, guidelines, and education
- Mentor and inspire emerging pharmacists and the wider clinical team
- Drive innovation and help shape the future of clinical pharmacy at a national level
You won’t just be providing pharmacy support, you’ll be helping transform patient journeys and raising the bar for what best practice looks like.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland delivers health and disability services to over half a million people. As part of New Zealand’s national health system, we are home to major tertiary services and the only national liver transplant unit. Our hospitals sit on whenua gifted by Ngāti Whātua and we are committed to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and providing culturally safe, equitable care.
Our Pharmacy Department is one of the most dynamic in the country with over 120 staff and a growing clinical team of 40+ pharmacists delivering advanced services across inpatient, outpatient, and specialist care.

About you
You’re someone who thrives in high-impact settings and is ready to step into a visible, influential role.
- NZ-registered (or eligible) pharmacist with a BPharm
- 3–5+ years hospital experience: surgical or transplant preferred
- Clinical postgrad qualifications (desirable, not essential)
- A skilled communicator, relationship builder and educator
- Passionate about cultural safety and advancing equity
- Self-motivated with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
