Are you ready to lead the strategic alignment and quality assurance of DOC's enterprise project portfolio? Help us shape outcomes that protect and restore Aotearoa unique natural heritage.
We're looking for a Senior Portfolio Management Advisor who is ready to make a difference-someone who brings experience, and hands-on expertise to guide the successful delivery of our ambitious enterprise project portfolio.
In this senior role, you will support the quality assurance, and enablement of DOC's enterprise project pipeline, ensuring alignment with DOC's strategic priorities and 3-5 year delivery plans. This is a unique opportunity to influence high-impact environmental, digital, and transformational programmes across the country.
The position will:
- Oversee project and programme assurance, from enacting quality criteria to conducting Health Checks and guiding go-to-green plans for underperforming initiatives.
- Support DOC's people by building capability, mentoring delivery teams, and working with the EPMO Practice Leads to enhance our P3M frameworks and training programmes
- Track benefits realisation, capture lessons, and continuously improve how we deliver our major programmes and projects
- Provide strategic advice to managers and directors, contributing your specialist knowledge to prioritisation and governance.

If you have some of following, we are keen to hear from you:
- 5+ years of experience delivering and assuring complex programmes-ideally across digital, transformation, and infrastructure initiatives
- Expertise in portfolio and programme management, quality assurance, and strategic alignment
- Advanced understanding of frameworks like P3M3, Better Business Cases, and Gateway Reviews.
- Qualifications in PRINCE2, MSP, or similar methodologies
- Highly skilled in risk management, and benefits frameworks
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present, influence, and lead across senior stakeholders
- A passion for continuous improvement, people development, and strategic delivery in a purpose-driven organisation

The Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) sits within the Organisation Support Group. The purpose of the team is to enable the successful delivery of DOCs Investment Portfolio by providing fit for purpose tools and frameworks. We support better investment decisions by providing efficient and effective delivery and assurance, driving successful realisation of outcomes and benefits.

The salary range for this position is $92,450.00 -$116,985.00 pro-rata with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
