Mo te turanga | About the role
We are looking for a sharp analytical mind with a passion for performance and delivery to join our Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO). If you're an expert in translating complex data into meaningful insights, this is your chance to make a tangible impact on Aotearoa's natural environment.
As the Senior Portfolio Performance Analyst, you will lead the development and delivery of high-level analysis and reporting across DOC's project, programme and investment portfolio. Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders, you'll ensure critical decisions are grounded in insight, accuracy, and strategic foresight.
This is more than a reporting role - it's a strategic position that drives capability, performance monitoring, tool development, and continuous improvement across DOC's investment portfolio.
The position will:
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and performance narratives to support effective governance and prioritisation decisions
- Deliver trend analysis and portfolio-wide insights that inform long-term planning and investment decisions
- Support the configuration of portfolio management tools, and provide expert support across the business
- Undertake detailed reviews of performance data to identify opportunities, risks, and key improvement areas
- Coach and mentor others in the EPMO and wider DOC teams, helping to grow project delivery and analytical capability
- Collaborate with internal leaders and external partners, including Treasury, to ensure transparent, insightful, and responsive portfolio performance communication

If you have some of following, we are keen to hear from you:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in data analysis, reporting, or portfolio performance roles
- Strong understanding of project and programme delivery gained through hands-on experience
- Proficient in Power BI, Excel, and other Microsoft Suite tools for data visualisation and reporting
- Skilled in interpreting complex data to produce concise, actionable insights for decision-makers
- Familiarity with project methodologies such as PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent
- Experience with project portfolio management tools and performance monitoring frameworks

The Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) sits within the Organisation Support Group. The purpose of the team is to enable the successful delivery of DOCs Investment Portfolio by providing fit for purpose tools and frameworks. We support better investment decisions by providing efficient and effective delivery and assurance, driving successful realisation of outcomes and benefits.

The salary range for this position is $92,450.00 -$116,985.00 pro-rata with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
