We're looking for a Senior Risk Analyst to support the continued uplift of the MAS (Medical Assurance Society) enterprise risk management programmes and frameworks by monitoring, identifying, and assisting in the mitigation of risks arising from activities across various MAS business units.

The role is responsible for managing the incident management process and maintaining various risk-related registers and business continuity.

The role also supports the overall risk maturity through ongoing communication, input into risk workshops and training, and developing processes and training associated with the assessment of risk.

What a day might look like

  • Maintain risk-related registers and conversant with risk management software
  • Update and analyse metrics relating to key risk indicators, risk appetite statements, conduct and culture, incidents, and other learning opportunities
  • Provide progress reports as required on all risk activities and outcomes
  • Provide analytical insight and market analysis relating to risks and opportunities
  • Complete risk reports to Executive, Audit and Risk Committee and Board
  • Prepare Governance and Executive team risk papers, reports and policies
  • Manages the Incident Management process and reporting, including preparing Governance reports and ensuring Executive and other incident owners are responsible for resolving incidents
  • Ensure all internal stakeholders are kept informed of progress and provide timely notification of any potential for delay on activities

What you'll bring

  • Previous experience in a risk analysis or assurance role
  • Strong numerical and analysis skills
  • Ability to analyse complex data and information to identify root causes, trends, patterns and potential risks
  • Effective communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Able to manage end-to-end workflows based on common risk management processes
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Risk Analyst/Senior Risk Analyst
  • Essential - Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Desired - Qualification or certification in Risk Management best practice or equivalent
  • Essential - Previous experience in the financial services industry or a highly regulated industry. Knowledge of risk frameworks, e.g. ISO 31000
  • Desired - Relevant experience in risk, assurance, compliance practices or related field of expertise, within the general insurance, life insurance and funds management industries. Proficient in risk and data analytics tools and software. 5 years' experience as a Risk Analyst/Senior Risk Analyst
