What you will be doing
Reporting to the Head of Risk, Remediation and Regulatory Affairs, you will be instrumental in fostering and upholding a robust risk culture at Tower to support our vision of delivering beautifully simple and rewarding experiences that our customers rave about
Dive into the heart of your responsibilities:
- Extensive stakeholder management with a diverse range of leaders across the business, providing practical and technical support, provision of key risk data, thematic risk assessments, deep dive investigations and plays a pivotal role in the identification, assessment and mitigation of strategic, operational and project risk.
- Provide oversight and challenge to management information produced by business units, along with commenting on the control environment and any relevant risks, incidents and actions.
- Manage direct reports across New Zealand and the Pacific to ensure a consistent and comprehensive approach across Line 2 risk.
- Oversee line 1 operationalisation, including ensuring that policy requirements and internal standards are understood and met, identifying any shortfalls, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken to address these.
- Continuously improve and embed the risk management framework, including risk frameworks and policies, risk and control assessment, key risk indicator monitoring and reporting, risk event management and ensure that stakeholders have the appropriate tools, techniques and support to implement effective risk management.
- Procure appropriate Corporate Insurances for Tower.
What you'll need
- A background in risk with at least five years' experience in financial services is preferred.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills along with an eye for detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and influence internal audiences at all levels.
- Knowledge of insurance as a business.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced change orientated environment, under pressure and to deadlines.
- Self-motivated with good initiative and a "continuous improvement" mindset is essential.
- Practical knowledge of Protecht GRM platform would be an advantage.
