About the role:
Sanctions squad implement, configure, maintain, and support the applications used by Financial Crime Operations to make sure ASB complies with national and international regulations regarding sanctions.
As a Senior Software Engineer (Testing) in Sanctions squad, you'll be part of our team that helps keep our customers safe. Being part of the Engineering Practice at ASB we encourage our teams to work autonomously in an agile way while actively growing their skills and expertise to continuously improve outcomes for our customers.
You'll have the opportunity to get hands-on with some interesting and complex pieces of work that integrate on an enterprise scale, all while being part of a smaller squad that makes their own decisions about how to work through prioritisation - so your voice will be heard, and your opinions valued.
We advocate agile, fully cross functional teams which will take you through all facets of engineering in any given day. We are looking for a mix of technical skills to support the following activities:
- Reviewing requirements and specifications
- Coming up with agile testing strategies and plans
- Verifying and validating functionality being developed
- Writing automated testsor extend on an existing one.
- Analysing and reporting test results
- Working with key stakeholders for testing end to end
About you:
We are looking for an individual that will take ownership for the testing of our technical solutions, drive continuous change for the squad and customers to ensure we are delivering best possible outcomes. You will work collaboratively with our squads and stakeholders to be the voice of engineering and deliver products that delight our customers.
We are looking for someone who has:
- 5+ years of software test engineering experience, preferably in an enterprise environment.
- Proven knowledge across functional testing, system integration testing, API testing, automation testing, and end to end testing.
- Working knowledge of MSSQL and Oracle SQL.
- Experience in developing, maintaining and executing test automation.
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI / CD pipelines.
- Good understanding and experience of working using Agile principles.
- Your proven initiative, problem solving abilities and technical leadership will make you well suited to this role.
In addition, the following would be an advantage:
- Certified in ISTQB Fundamentals.
- Experience with open-source test automation frameworks like Selenium and Playwright.
- Working knowledge of performance testing tools like LoadRunner, JMeter or similar tools
- Financial / banking domain experience.
- Working experience on Regulatory and Compliance projects including Sanctions and Anti-money Laundering (AML) screening systems.
