About the role - Korero mo te turanga

This role will be a member of the Development Data and Systems Team (DDS). The team's primary function is to manage and continuously improve data, systems and reporting that relate to the New Zealand IDC Programme (formerly the New Zealand Aid Programme). DDS sits within the Pacific and Development Group (PDG), which leads an integrated approach to New Zealand's diplomatic and development engagement with Pacific countries and is responsible for the implementation of the New Zealand Aid Programme globally. More specifically, this role will be a member of the project team responsible for transitioning PDG's Programme and Activity Management System from an older on-premise version, to a new cloud product.

The Senior Technical Writer role is responsible for creating and updating documentation to support our new cloud system.

  • You'll write system and quick reference guides.
  • You'll produce change and training material, including system videos and presentations.
  • You'll update process documents.

The appointment range for this role is $87,672 to $103,843 (inclusive of 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution) depending on experience.

We'd like to hear from you if you are an experienced technical business analyst with the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Technical or Content writer with at least three years experience writing material for enterprise systems and/or change material.
  • Ability to create content for a variety of end-users with very different backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with change management processes.
  • Ability to take complex workflows and present them in an easy-to-use format.
  • Understanding of The Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti, Te Reo Maori and Maori customs and protocols would be beneficial.
