At the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) | Te Tira Tiaki, our mission is to protect and enhance Aotearoa New Zealand's security and wellbeing. We provide Signals Intelligence and Cyber Security and resilience to organisations of national significance to successfully navigate in an unpredictable world.
About the role
GCSB's Intelligence Directorate is looking for intelligence professionals (or aspiring ones) to provide advice, education and support to a range of customers and stakeholders to manage personnel, physical and information security of Signals Intelligence, together with the development and implementation of associated security policy.
About you
Ideally, you will have:
experience in the intelligence and security sector, preferably with good exposure to intelligence products and services OR in providing security advice and guidance;
a professional customer orientation with a strong commitment to providing a high standard of customer service;
strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills and excellent attention to detail;
an aptitude for both creative and analytical thinking when problem-solving, and the ability to apply intellectual rigour to issues under consideration;
the ability to work well under pressure, applying effective risk assessment and good judgement; and
maturity, sound judgement, flexibility and a sense of teamwork in a demanding and unpredictable work environment which often involves urgent problem resolution.
You will be enthusiastic, flexible, self-motivated, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate sound judgement under pressure. Teamwork is key so you will enjoy working in a collaborative environment, engaging and sharing knowledge with a diverse range of professional people.
To be considered for this position you will need to be available to attend a full day Assessment Centre (including interview) in central Wellington , on one of the following days:

Successful candidates will be required to start their careers with us in Wellington, but with the potential opportunity to relocate to Auckland in the future.

Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.
You must:
Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years
OR
Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
