Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a permanent, part time Simulation Technician. This role sits within Te Puna Hauora – School of Health, Te Pukenga Wai – Faculty of Education, Health, and Psychological Sciences. The role is located at our Newtown Campus at the Wellington Regional Hospital until June 2026, relocating to our Kelburn Campus July 2026 onwards. This role may suit someone looking for flexible working hours.
Key responsibilities:
- Management of the Simulation Suite.
- Prepare and pack away simulation teaching sessions.
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of simulation equipment.
- Overseeing equipment and consumables inventories.
- Arranging and undertaking training for staff in the use of equipment.
- Plan and monitor simulation suite budgets.

- Experience working in a health environment, or a simulation suite, laboratory, or clinical setting.
- Excellent organisational skills with proven ability to manage competing priorities.
- Outstanding people and communication skills including the ability to adjust to different audiences.
- Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.
