We are currently looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our Payroll development team, based in Auckland, New Zealand. You will join a team of hardworking, dynamic and passionate software engineers, working with key architects, product managers, and other partners continue to deliver a new generation of on-demand Enterprise solutions crafted to meet the needs of today's global businesses.
About the Role
Write and maintain solid, robust, efficient and maintainable code using Workday's Object Oriented framework and tools.
Write reliable unit, integration, and system level tests that will run on our continuous delivery pipeline.
Collaborate with multi-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver features in the Workday Payroll product.
Mentor and learn from other team members through pairing, code reviews, knowledge shares, hackathons, etc.
About You
Basic Qualification
5+ years' experience in software development engineering including designing, developing, and deploying software solutions.
5+ years of experience in any Object-Oriented Programming language.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, OR equivalent practical experience.
Other Qualification
Working knowledge of API Development, including SOAP and REST and experience in integration technologies.
Good understanding of Code Testing methodologies, such as BUT - Behavioural Unit Test, and experience with TDD - Test Driven Development.
Good understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles and in UML modeling.
Solid understanding of Software Development principles and proficiency in object-oriented languages such as Java, C#, etc.
Proven ability in Team Collaboration within a software development team, including Agile practices such as Scrum.
