Mō Mātou | About us
At ASB, we believe progress is more than just financial — it's about helping New Zealanders, communities, and our environment thrive together. We're a purpose-led organisation with a proud history and a clear vision: to support Kiwis in getting one step ahead. Our work is guided by strong values — caring, integrity, courage, passion, and unity — and brought to life by a diverse team of people who genuinely care about making a difference.
Mō te Tūranga | About the role
We're looking for a Software Specialist to join our Core Integration squad — a team responsible for maintaining and enhancing ASB's core API platforms. This is a hands-on technical role with a strong operational flavour, ideal for someone who enjoys variety and thrives in a collaborative, Agile environment.
You'll work across the software development lifecycle, contributing to deployments, releases, platform operations, and on-call support. You'll also play a key role in mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and driving continuous improvement.
Ō Pūkenga | About you
You're a solid allrounder with a curious mindset and a passion for problem solving. You're comfortable working independently and supporting production environments, and you bring a strong understanding of platform operations.
We're looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in C# .NET and API development
- Familiarity with version control tools (TFS, Azure DevOps or similar)
- Hands-on DevOps experience, especially with pipelines
- Exposure to observability toolsets (e.g. Elastic Observability)
- Strong understanding of platform architecture and operations
- Willingness to learn and grow, with a proactive and independent approach
- Ability to provide on-call support
Bonus skills:
- Experience with GitHub Enterprise
- SQL scripting capability
- Familiarity with React or similar frameworks (Vue, Angular)
