About the Role - In this full time, 40 hour per week role ,the purpose of this job is to is to develop, review and project manage key Council and community strategies and plans ensuring they are fit-for-purpose and reflect Council's long-term priorities. This role also undertakes and supports consultation processes ensuring legislative requirements are met.
Do you have what it takes? - This is a fast-paced, varied role supporting the Head of Strategy and Governance with the development and implementation of key Council strategies, including the District Plan, Environmental Policy and Long-Term Plan. You'll also contribute to new strategies and policies, ensure timely reviews in line with legislation, lead consultation processes, and present reports to Council, Boards, and Committees.
About You - You're a team player with a degree in public policy (or similar), 5+ years' experience in public policy or corporate strategy, and a proactive "can-do" attitude. You bring strong knowledge of local government legislation (LGA, RMA, Reserves Act), understanding of Treaty of Waitangi principles, and experience engaging diverse stakeholders. Your excellent communication skills and strategic thinking help you navigate complex issues and deliver effective outcomes.

The salary range for this position is between FTE $104,130 and FTE $115,700 and the appointed starting level will be dependent on skills and experience and will be discussed during interviews with shortlisted candidates.
