Do you have a passion for swimming, community wellbeing, and helping others thrive? We're looking for a permanent full-time (Tuesday to Saturday hours) Swim City Coordinator to join our team at Hutt City Council.
In this role, you'll oversee the delivery, monitoring and continuous improvement of our swim programmes. You'll make sure our programmes are safe, engaging, high-quality, while also supporting our swim instructors. From timetabling and administration to customer engagement and staff development, you'll play a vital role in helping our community enjoy active, healthy lifestyles.
What you'll do
- Coordinating and improving Swim City programmes and timetables.
- Supporting swim instructors, including organising training and professional development opportunities.
- Ensuring safe, high-quality delivery of swimming programmes and events.
- Liaising with customers, schools and community groups to understand and meet their needs.
- Responding to feedback, conducting surveys, and driving continuous improvement.
- Providing reports and updates to the Swim City Manager.
What you'll bring
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and community focused. You will bring:
- Proven experience in training, assisting and supporting swimming instructor staff.
- Experience in swim teaching and knowledge of learn to swim principles, water safety and aquatic education.
- Proven experience in administration and/or coordination role, ideally experience coordinating rosters and schedules.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to positively communicate with and relate well to, a broad range of people from a variety of backgrounds, culture and ages.
