About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified tradesperson to provide day to day reactive and planned maintenance for your specialty and all other general maintenance requests, whilst ensuring the timely and cost effective completion for Taumarunui Hospital. This "hands on" role supports the Waikato Rural Operations Manager in ensuring that the district has a reliable client friendly service to all of its sites.
You will have the knowledge and ability to obtain quotes for work and liaise with contractors as required. You will also work with the Taumarunui Facilities Supervisor and Waikato District Property & Infrastructure Team, supporting the the Taumarunui clinical staff, patients, and site visitors by ensuring that all active site facilities are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE), Monday-Friday, with a requirement to participate in the after-hours on call roster.

About the Team
The Taumarunui Facilities Team is a small but committed to a service that provides various maintenance services to Taumarunui Hospital, with some periodic on call cover to other sites. Supported by a team based across the Waikato district, our service trades include, Engineers, Electricians and Carpentry along with Administration support.

About you
To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with:
Qualifications
- Trade qualifications and/or time served in a relevant building related trade e.g. carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing etc.
- Have a clean NZ driver's licence.
- NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
Desired
- Familiarity with all trades utilised in a hospital advantage would be an advantage.
