Frontline production leadership opportunity for a Team Leader to join our Takapau site on the day shift.
Te Tūranga | About the Role:
As the Team Leader in Primary Butchery, you will be responsible for providing operational support to your team on the floor by proactively supporting them to meet their daily production requirements, as well as observing and monitoring quality and safety compliance. With the support of the leadership team, you will have the chance to drive continuous improvement initiatives and grow your career with a range of development opportunities.
This role is responsible for the day shift and expected work hours are between 5.30am and 3.00pm. There may be times where you will be asked to cover the evening shift as required.
The successful candidate will need to have a strong focus on safety and compliance; with a drive to look for continuous improvement opportunities within your department.
Te Mahi | Key Responsibilities:
- Providing leadership directions to the department to achieve daily production targets whilst developing a positive team culture

Communicate what food safety, quality and compliance requirements are specific to your team and actively observe the chain to ensure these are
maintained at all times - Train and coach members of your team to understand what specifications and production targets mean and how they relate to the team member's work
- Build an uncompromising safety culture
- Champion continuous improvement and encourage team members to find new ideas to improve work practices
Ōu Pūkenga | About You:
The be successful, you will demonstrate leadership qualities and experience from your time in the manufacturing, FMCG or primary industries; and be driven by building a safe, quality focused and positive culture within a team. You'll be confident with identifying areas for improvement within the plant and have a desire to progress your career in the red meat industry, where opportunities are endless. There will be opportunity for the right candidate to progress through the business with support and developmental training.
