Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where every day is different? Join us at the NBS Theatre as a Theatre Technician, and help bring magic to the stage and screen in the Buller District.


What Will You Do? | Ka aha koe?
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing outstanding customer service to patrons and stakeholders
  • Supporting theatre and cinema bookings, ticketing, invoicing, and promotions
  • Run and maintain lighting, sound, and projection equipment for live performances and films
  • Assisting with food handling, bar sales, and stock management
  • Leading community engagement through social media, newsletters, and local radio
  • Ensure venues are clean, safe, and welcoming at all times
  • Operating digital sound and lighting desks
  • Creating and managing cinema playlists and schedules
  • Liaising with event promoters to meet their technical requirements
  • Training team members in basic technical functions

Who Are You? | Ko wai koe?
We are looking for someone with:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities
  • Technical aptitude and willingness to learn new systems
  • A flexible schedule with availability for evenings and weekends
  • A current full NZ driver's licence

Desirable:

  • Experience in cinema or live theatre
  • Sound and lighting operation experience (3+ years preferred)
  • Duty Manager Certificate & Working at Heights Certification
