ABOUT THE ROLE
Ventia, in partnership with the Far North District Council, operates and maintains vital water infrastructure across the region, including: 9 water treatment plants, 17 wastewater treatment plants, 750+ km of pipeline, 100+ pump stations. We also deliver minor capital works to improve these assets.
What your day might look like:
- Standard hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (with occasional overtime)
- Hands-on work at water and wastewater treatment plants
- Working in a supportive team environment
- Using mobile devices for timesheets and job tracking
- On-call roster: 1 week in 4 (with overtime opportunities)
This is a reactive maintenance role, ideal for someone who enjoys variety and problem-solving
ABOUT YOU
We’re not looking for perfection – we’re looking for potential. Whether you’ve worked on a farm, done plumbing, irrigation, or just enjoy hands-on work, we want to hear from you.

- Someone who enjoys working on site and in a team
Minimum Requirements
- A Full Class 1 driver’s licence (Class 2 and WTR are even better!)
- Able to pass a drug test
- Living in or willing to relocate to the Far North
Bonus if you have:
- Traffic Control certification
- Enrolment in or interest in the NZ Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Level 3 or 4)
