About the Role
As an Administration Support team member in the Emergency Department, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, accurate administrative and customer service support to patients, whānau, health professionals, and visitors. This casual role requires flexibility, as the service operates 24/7, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Your responsibilities will include ensuring the smooth operation of front-line administration processes, maintaining attention to detail under pressure, and contributing to the department's goal of delivering excellent acute care services.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Emergency Department Administration team is an integral part of Whakatāne Hospital's fast-paced ED environment. Working alongside clinical staff, the team helps the service achieve best practice acute care standards, quality care, and strong performance outcomes. Based in the Bay of Plenty's Eastern Bay, Whakatāne offers a balance of meaningful work in a supportive hospital environment, with the lifestyle benefits of a warm, welcoming community.

About you
The ideal candidate will be an adaptable and energetic administrator with strong organisational skills and a calm approach in busy environments. A proven ability to provide high quality customer service, excellent communication skills, and the flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster are essential.
