Job Description
The Billing Account Executive will play a key role in managing invoicing, reconciling accounts, and supporting the commercial team with financial accuracy. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with sales, product, and internal finance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, issue, and track invoices for advertising campaigns, subscriptions, and other publisher services.
- Reconcile sales contracts, insertion orders, and campaign delivery data to ensure billing accuracy.
- Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on overdue payments, and escalate as required.
- Maintain accurate billing records and support month-end close processes.
- Partner with sales and account managers to resolve discrepancies and respond to client billing queries.
- Assist with revenue reporting, forecasting, and analysis for finance and leadership teams.
- Support process improvements to streamline billing operations and enhance client experience.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company financial policies.
Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
- 2+ years’ experience in billing, accounts receivable, or finance administration (media or publishing industry experience preferred).
- Strong numeracy skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (experience with e.g., NetSuite, Xero, Salesforce, Operative]).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and internal teams.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
