About the Role
We have the opportunity available to join the National Public Health Service (NPHS) Prevention Directorate as Business Service Lead. This is a fixed term, full-time role.
The Business Services Lead is responsible for leading the delivery and operations of BreastScreen Aotearoa (BSA) technology solutions. You will spearhead the management of BSA technology solutions, playing a pivotal role in driving the BSA technical priorities and ensuring seamless service delivery. Operating within the BSA and wider cancer screening framework, deeply embedded in our communities across New Zealand, your focus will be on orchestrating multidisciplinary efforts to achieve overarching service objectives that have a direct influence on breast screening outcomes.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The NPHS within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
About you
As a Business Services Lead, you will bring demonstrated ability to motivate and encourage teams in an environment of change, financial prudence and an increasing level of digital maturity across the organisation. You will be a natural problem solver, have good political nous and understand the healthcare ecosystem. You will have proven relationship building skills and well-developed communication skills. Due to the wide-ranging nature of the work in this role, a varied background is welcome.
- A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification with at least three years' experience working in the health system, preferably breast screening, or other related field OR significant and proven experience in similar roles in the health, cancer, screening or related NGO sector
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
- Experience in a Technology leadership role with a background in IT management including working with internal and external stakeholders in a large and complex organisation
- Significant experience working in an Agile product delivery framework
- An appreciation of the technical landscape within the Health sector, ability to support the shaping of solutions with the ability to articulate this in a language that is reflective of the audience
- Understand the suite of BSA products and channels we deliver, and how this enables delivery of better breast screening outcomes
