Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
Due to recent business growth, we currently have a unique and exciting senior lending opportunity, dealing with property finance clients across varied projects against a backdrop of some beautiful countryside.
We spoke with our Head of Property – Southern, who let us know the following about the role:
What are some of the day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
- Actively contributing to the team and performance to facilitate the development of a strong and united team which is well informed, networked and highly functional.
- Manage a property portfolio of complex relationships to maintain and enhance client satisfaction and credit risk profile in accordance with BNZ objectives.
- Maintain a strong network of market advocates (key market players, professionals, and intermediaries) who focus on property market operations to develop advocacy for referrals and to source market specific knowledge.
- Maintain proactive structured regular call cycle and frequent contact with all clients, prospective clients, and advocates to provide and maintain excellent client service. Uncover fresh opportunities and source current market knowledge. Involve Bank Senior Management team & specialists when needed.
- Manage and facilitate credit applications / submissions that meet customer needs effectively and efficiently and demonstrate prudent risk management.
What is the team culture and environment like?
We are a small tight knit team, who work closely together and enjoy turning up. It’s a very autonomous work environment where you are encouraged to make your own decisions but know that you have a very supportive leader in the background ready to assist at any time.
What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?
One of our most unique roles in the Property Finance Team as whilst you are based in Queenstown a good portion of your client base also sits within the wider Otago Region so there will be regular travel, and a company vehicle will be provided.
These roles tend to be a pathway into people leadership for those that are interested in that pathway.
What attributes will this person have in order to be successful?
We are looking for someone who is confident and structured with deep technical property knowledge, and the ability to successfully balance the client / risk relationship and be able to develop new business relationships in market.
