About the Role | Mo tenei turanga

Pharmac is looking for a Clinical Lead to provide guidance and leadership to our medicines funding work programme. You may have experience in public health and/or general medicine. Working in a small team and reporting to the Manager of Expert Advisory in the Advice and Assessment Directorate, you will use your clinical expertise to advise on medicines funding, including communicating and implementing decisions. Part-time and other locations may be considered for the right candidate. The salary range midpoint is $179,086 (1 FTE equivalent), dependent on professional skills and experience

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Building networks and relationships internally and across the health sector
  • Use your knowledge, experience and expertise to provide senior clinical leadership and advice to Pharmac staff and decision makers
  • Represent Pharmac's perspective, processes and decisions externally

Who are we looking for? | M wai te mahi nei?

  • A registered healthcare practitioner who is currently practicing. Experience working as a medical practitioner is preferred, however relevant other health professional qualifications will be considered (Pharmac will provide support to ensure you are able to retain your current practicing certificate.)
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of medicines and the New Zealand Health Sector
  • Ability to successfully lead, manage and influence in a clinical leadership role
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Experience in the appraisal of evidence as part of decision making
  • Ability to critique evidence and interpret data to support health technology assessment of medicines
  • Ability to assimilate complex and often competing ideas logically and articulate these clearly, concisely and coherently
