Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Role

We're looking for an energetic communications all-rounder to join Pharmac's Communications team. You'll need to have communications experience, and be a clear writer, flexible, collaborative, organised and able to adapt to evolving priorities and communication needs across the organisation. You'll be someone who thrives in a busy communications environment, works well with others, and who has sound judgement and a strong customer focus.

While you will be a communications generalist, this role has a particular focus on delivering new projects for Pharmac around consumer engagement and a programme to reset the organisation to be more outward-focused and transparent. You will also be expected to deal with media inquiries as needed and regularly produce content that shows the impact of Pharmac's work.

  • A degree in communications or equivalent
  • Experience in a busy communications team - ideally you'll have experience providing communications advice and delivering communications projects
  • Good, clear writing skills with the audience in mind
  • Demonstrated organisation and planning skills to meet deadlines
  • Experience working at pace and meeting expectations
  • Sound judgement
  • Excellent relationship skills
  • A strong sense of collegiality to work with and support your colleagues
  • Affinity with Pharmac's aims to contribute to the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders.

We are a whānau centered organisation and understand the importance of maintaining a healthy work life balance. To support our kaimahi and their whānau we offer:

  • Five weeks annual leave for permanent kaimahi

At Pharmac | Te Pātaka Whaioranga we welcome all kaimahi with a mihi whakatau during their first month. For kaimahi Māori, we offer mihi whakatau on your first day, where your whānau and manuhiri are welcome to attend. As you come through our waharoa, you will be welcomed into our growing support network - Maōri Caucus.

This role is Band 6, with a total range of $77,165 - $104,399 total remuneration. The appointment range is anticipated to be between $77,165 and $90,872 total remuneration, inclusive of 3% KiwiSaver Employer contribution. The appointment salary is subject to the preferred candidate's relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
