As a Community Development and Engagement Manager, you will play a key role by contributing to the delivery of effective community development initiatives, and community and stakeholder engagement by building strong partnerships and managing key relationships. You will demonstrate community development values of collaboration and compassion and be able to adapt to challenging situations while working with people from all walks of life.
K inga Ora construction sites are supported by community development initiatives to help smooth the transition before, during and after completion. These initiatives are designed to encourage a sense of community, acceptance and integration, promote being a good neighbour and build partnerships with the community, people and organisations.
This role will require traveling to Greater Wellington Region.
Ng pumanawatanga ou - What you will bring
- A tertiary qualification in communications or social practice, or professional engagement practise certification (e.g. IAP2), or demonstratable evidence of equivalent experience in related fields
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working in the fields of stakeholder management and community engagement and community development, ideally including experience in the public sector (i.e. Government/State Sector environment)
- Strong understanding of social cohesion principles and community dynamics
- Demonstrated ability to deliver engagement activity of local, regional and/or national significance and importance to the business
- Ability and credibility to represent the organisation with external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to confidently build, maintain and engage with local communities
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with a strategic and growth mind-set
- Demonstrated experience in dealing with conflict and negotiation
- Strong networks and connections with support partners, NGOs
- Full, current, and clean driver's license is required (mandatory)
